The Trio Behind Tirak
A Fusion of Heritage & Innovation.
Our story is in every plate. Matt travels and love for Asian food, Marcus’ relentless pursuit of the perfect flavour profiles for traditional dishes whilst adding a modern twist to his creations and Natalie’s Nepalese roots which led to an amazing collaboration with Daisy Beale of Magic Momo in our quest for the ultimate momos. Combined with a no-holds-barred attitude, we’ve redefined Pan-Asian dining in Clapham.
Tirak is more than a restaurant — it’s a journey born from passion and heritage. Founded by distinct voices, our menu is a love letter to the East. It is built on a passion for authentic flavours, elevated by Head Chef Marcus Kong who leads the kitchen, drawing on his experience at revered Asian institutions like Nanyang Blossom and Khao Bird, and anchored by a heartfelt homage to tradition. Even choosing the name has a story: it was gifted to us by Head Chef Mirko of our sister restaurant Livetto Madre who has a deep love for Thailand, and he fondly refers to his dearest friends and colleagues as Tirak.
This unique alchemy brings you a truly unique culinary experience. We honour tradition while fearlessly playing with unadulterated flair, bringing the very best of Asia to the heart of Clapham.
